About From Today
From Today is an independent website of free date calculators. It answers everyday questions like “what date is 90 days from today?”, “how many business days until my deadline?”, “how many days until Christmas?” and “what time is 9 AM Eastern in India?” It is not affiliated with any government agency.
Why it exists
Date math looks simple until a deadline depends on it. Months have different lengths, leap years add a day, US federal holidays move when they fall on a weekend, and daylight saving time shifts clocks twice a year. Many online tools ignore these details. From Today handles them and explains the rule behind each answer, so you can check it yourself.
How the calculations work
- Calendar dates, not clock times. Calculations use whole calendar days, so daylight saving changes never shift a result by a day. “Today” is always the date on your own device.
- Everything runs in your browser. The numbers and dates you enter are never sent to our servers.
- US federal holidays follow the 11 holidays set out in federal law, moved to the Friday before or Monday after when they fall on a weekend, as the Office of Personnel Management does for federal employees.
- Time zones use your browser’s built-in copy of the IANA time zone database, the same data used by phones and computers.
- Seasons use equinox and solstice times published by the US Naval Observatory. Easter uses the standard church calculation.

How we test
An automated test suite checks the date math before every update, including leap years, month ends (January 31 plus one month), holidays that fall on weekends, Thanksgiving and Easter across several years, daylight saving transitions and time zone conversions. The site is rebuilt every day so pre-calculated answers stay current.
Accuracy and corrections
We summarize deadlines from laws and official guidance, such as credit card dispute windows or Social Security ages, in plain language. These summaries are general information, not legal, financial or medical advice. Rules change and have exceptions, so confirm important dates with the relevant agency or a professional.
Found a mistake or a date that looks wrong? Tell us. We check every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.
