Weeks versus months
Weeks and months drift apart quickly. Four weeks is 28 days, but the average month is about 30.4 days, so by 12 weeks you are almost a week short of three months, and 52 weeks is one day short of a year. Use weeks when a rule or plan is written in weeks (FMLA leave, pregnancy, notice periods), and months when it is written in months (leases, subscriptions, warranties). Counting weeks in pregnancy
Pregnancy is counted in weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period, about two weeks before conception, and a full-term due date is 40 weeks after that day. So “6 weeks pregnant” means six weeks since the last period. Your doctor or midwife may adjust the due date after an ultrasound.

How do I count weeks from today?
Multiply the weeks by 7 and add that many days. Any whole number of weeks lands on the same weekday as today, so 6 weeks from a Tuesday is always a Tuesday.
Is a month 4 weeks?
No. Only February in a non-leap year is exactly 4 weeks. Other months are 4 weeks plus 2 or 3 days, so a year has 52 weeks and 1 day (2 in a leap year), not 48 weeks.
